What jun.so collects, why, where it's kept, and how to have it removed.

Jun is an open-source project. This page covers www.jun.so and the few services the project runs for it: the demo desk behind the chat on this site, and telemetry.jun.so. It doesn't cover a Jun desk someone deploys to their own Cloudflare account: that desk, and what it keeps, belongs to whoever runs it.

We don't sell or rent anything below to anyone, and there are no advertising scripts on this site.

The hosting waitlist

If you join "Want us to host it?", we keep your email address, the date, and which part of the site you signed up from. That's all; we don't store your IP address. It's kept in a Cloudflare D1 database in the project's account, separate from everything else on this page.

We'll use it only to write to you about hosted Jun. Ask us (below) and we'll delete it.

The chat on this site

The chat in the corner is Jun itself, running on our demo desk on Cloudflare. When you use it, the desk keeps:

  • the messages you write, and anything you choose to give, like your name or email;
  • the pages you looked at during your visit, your browser and device, and the country your connection comes from;
  • to help with problems: errors on the page, failed requests (their address and status, never their contents) and clicks that didn't seem to work (only the button's or link's label).

It never records what you type into the page's own fields, page text, or anything from password fields. It keeps a random visit id in your browser's storage so a chat survives a reload.

The AI's answers come from OpenAI, which receives the conversation to write each reply. If you ask the AI to do something on the page, it can read the visible page first, with private fields left out.

Visit counts

The site uses a page-view counter (clokd.app) to see how many people visit, which pages they read and where they came from.

Accounts from the earlier jun.so

The sign-up and sign-in pages are from an earlier version of this site. If you made an account there, we keep the name and email you gave and your sign-in sessions, in a Neon Postgres database. Ask us and we'll delete it.

Desks' usage ping

A Jun desk sends one anonymous message a day to telemetry.jun.so: a random id, its version, rough counts and which features are on. No names, website addresses, emails or messages, and no IP address is stored. A desk's owner can turn it off. Exactly what's sent.

Where it all lives

This site is hosted on Vercel. The demo desk, the waitlist and the usage ping run on Cloudflare.

Removing your data, and questions

Write to us in the chat on this site, or open an issue on GitHub, and say what you'd like removed. We'll do it and tell you when it's done.

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
